East And Southern Africa Communications Officer

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team based in South Africa.

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts in the IT or Consumer Electronics Hardware Distribution industry. You should have evidence of strong sales skills and possess good negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

1. Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions.
2. Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
3. Document financial transactions by entering account information.
4. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
5. Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.
6. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
7. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
8. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
9. Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
10. Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
11. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
12. Manage month-end and year-end close process.
13. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
14. Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
2. Master's degree preferred.
3. Thorough knowledge of local taxation laws.
4. Experience managing budgets.
5. Highly analytical mindset.
6. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical forecasting.
7. Excellent mathematical aptitude.
8. Good problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication.
10. Attention to detail.
11. Working experience in Zoho or Oracle Netsuite.
12. Work experience with a distribution company engaged in retail, wholesale or e-commerce distribution will be an advantage.
