System Engineer

What the job is about

As a System Engineer at Sofico, you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the daily support of our colleagues, both locally and internationally, and contribute to the management and monitoring of internal systems, networks, and cloud environments. You will work with both on-premises environments (VMWare, Nutanix) and in the cloud (Azure), handling operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server.

Additionally, you will manage O365 applications such as Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, and Teams. Your role also includes network management, where you will be responsible for switches, firewalls, and server management, both on-premises and in the cloud. Onboarding new employees is also part of your responsibilities, ensuring smooth integration and IT support. Furthermore, you will play a proactive role in seeking improvements and optimizations within our IT infrastructure, managing backup solutions (Veeam) and monitoring tools (Zabbix, ELK).

Your skills and interest

You are passionate about IT and preferably hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, complemented by at least three years of relevant experience. You have strong technical knowledge of both Linux and Windows and are experienced in cloud and virtualization technologies. In addition, you are analytical, flexible, and able to handle stress. Good knowledge of English is required.

You work in a structured manner and are focused on quality, documentation, and teamwork.

You also have experience with the following:

• Maintaining virtual machines (VMWare, Nutanix) on-premises and in Azure.
• Managing O365 tools (Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, Teams).
• Network management, including switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Implementing and managing backups (Veeam) and monitoring (Zabbix, ELK).
• Onboarding new employees and proactively seeking IT improvements.

Knowledge of Ansible and/or Terraform is a plus.
