Job Title: Finance Consultant (Credit/Pay & Bill)
Location: Remote, South Africa
Reporting Line: Hannah & Louise
Working Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM UK Time
Contract: 9-month preferred with potential for full-time
Salary:R30,000- R35,000pm DOE

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Consultant (Credit/Pay & Bill) to join our growing finance team within the recruitment industry. This fully remote role is essential to ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the credit control function while overseeing the full pay and bill process, including contract creation and compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external clients to maintain financial processes, ensure compliance, and support the company’s cash flow objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Control:

  • Manage and monitor outstanding client invoices, ensuring timely payments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding overdue payments and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Produce and maintain accurate aged debtor reports.
  • Ensure adherence to payment terms and apply escalation procedures when necessary.
  • Work closely with the sales team and management to resolve any credit-related issues.

Full Pay and Bill Process:

  • Oversee the entire pay and bill cycle for contractors and clients.
  • Prepare and manage contracts for all recruitment placements in line with agreed terms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Coordinate with recruitment consultants to verify contractors' timesheets, pay rates, and billable hours.
  • Process payments to contractors and clients while ensuring compliance with tax, national insurance, and other statutory regulations.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all contracts and payments comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and audits related to the pay and bill process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the system.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with recruitment consultants, operations, and HR to ensure accurate data flow.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance staff as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in finance, with a strong understanding of credit control and pay and bill processes, ideally within the recruitment industry.
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • High level of accuracy and numeracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Technical Requirements: A reliable laptop, stable internet connection, and proficiency in finance software and tools.
