POSITION INFO :

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (PrEng / PrTechEng) - DURBAN

Client is a multi-disciplinary company with head office in Durban, South Africa and branches around RSA as well as Mauritius, Kenya and the UK. Their services include engineering, project management, quantity surveying, environmental consulting, management consulting and town planning. The company is looking for a vibrant and dynamic young individual to join their electrical engineering team.

Job Description :

Electrical Engineer with a background in Industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors to join our team based out of Durban, overseeing various projects in South Africa.

Requirements :

• Electrical Engineering BEng / BSc Degree or BTech qualification
• 7-10 years previous electrical engineering experience in Industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors. Proven track record
• ECSA registered as a Professional Engineer or Technologist
• Greenfields and brownfields plant design and construction experience
• Be able to work and embrace team culture with fellow peers across the various divisions.
• Provide mentorship to students and graduates
• DigSilent / ETAP Loadflow / Fault Study Modelling would be advantageous

Responsibilities :

• Perform and oversee Electrical engineering activities for various industrial projects in the private and government sectors to safely deliver on all company operational plans during the project execution phase;
• Engineering design in accordance with established standards and codes of practice;
• Reviewing technical documentation and defining electrical engineering requirements;
• Carrying out technical evaluations, preparation of specifications for electrical infrastructure and installations;
• Carry out feasibility and electrical power system studies;
• Attend factory acceptance tests and provide input to vendor’s test documentation;
• Manage and assist with plant electrical equipment and system installation and commissioning;
• Accountability for quality, risk management, financial performance, scope management and client satisfaction in all projects undertaken;
• Liaise with the client to ensure that agreed designs are in accordance with agreed requirements;
• Representation at client and professional meetings with the ability to present work and engage in technical conversations in a professional manner.
