Luxury Game Reserve in the Waterberg area is looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to supervise the repair & maintenance of the buildings and mechanical equipment, ensure timely installation & upkeep of the company’s property & systems in order to ensure operational effectiveness and oversee & lead maintenance procedures & actions.
Duties:
Ensure that all company policies, procedures & SOPs are adhered to.
Attend HOD & any other meetings as required.
Respond to all building safety-related safety concerns.
Draw up preventative maintenance schedules annually and ensure that plant and machinery are maintained in accordance with the schedule.
Attend to the breakdown of plant, machinery & equipment.
Manage the maintenance team rosters.
Ensure that refrigeration equipment, air conditioning, plant, drainage systems & grease taps are always maintained.
Maintain statutory safety records for DB Boards, stand-by generator, lifts, boilers, room sprinkler system & other fire equipment.
Place orders for maintenance requirements & repairs after necessary approval is obtained.
Maintain safety records as per requirements.
Undertake routine checks on water pressure equipment & maintain accordingly.
Ensure that all rooms, public space & outside areas are in good repair by performing various required tasks related to a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc., to ensure a well-maintained property.
Draw up department budget, control expenditure against budget & provide a monthly report of maintenance expenditure.
Conduct staff appraisals.
Monitor the level & quality of services performed by external contractors in accordance with lease agreements, service contracts & warranties.
Ensure that emergency equipment is always in working order.
Maintain clean, orderly & hazard-free work areas.
Identify & report the needs for major repairs.
Identify training needs & implement training when required.
Any other ad hoc duties that may be required.
Requirements:
Diploma or tertiary qualification in engineering / technical trades.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager in a large 4 / 5 Reserve or Lodge.
Only candidates with Lodge / Hotel or Reserve experience will be considered.
Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
