BigCommerce Web Designer

Position is Remote. starting with 4-5 daily hours.

We are seeking a talented BigCommerce Web Designer with a strong design background and a deep understanding of the BigCommerce platform. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to tailor designs to align with cultural nuances, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and designers. This is a part-time role (4-5 hours per day) with flexibility, though availability during New York business hours is highly preferred for real-time collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. BigCommerce Expertise:
   • Design, develop, and implement visually appealing and functional e-commerce websites on the BigCommerce platform.
   • Customize and optimize BigCommerce themes to meet client-specific needs and preferences.
   • Troubleshoot design and functionality issues and implement improvements.
2. Web Design Sensitivity:
   • Create responsive and user-friendly designs that align with the clients brand and target audience.
   • Adapt designs to reflect cultural nuances and language preferences as discussed with clients.
   • Ensure consistency in visual design, typography, and layout across all pages.
3. Client Communication:
   • Work directly with clients and designers to gather requirements and feedback.
   • Provide design recommendations and solutions based on client objectives.
   • Maintain clear and professional communication to ensure alignment on project goals.
4. Time Zone & Availability:
   • Be available during New York business hours (preferred) for real-time follow-ups and guidance.
   • Proactively manage time and tasks to meet project deadlines and client expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• BigCommerce Expertise:
  • Strong experience working with the BigCommerce platform, including theme customization and implementation.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement advanced design features.
• Design Background:
  • Proven experience in web design, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive and e-commerce designs.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma.
• Communication Skills:
  • Comfortable engaging directly with clients and team members to discuss requirements, provide updates, and address feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Additional Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility, accessibility standards, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with international clients and designing for diverse cultural audiences.
• Basic knowledge of SEO principles and how they impact design.
• Availability during New York business hours for seamless collaboration.
