We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mid-Level IT Support Engineer to join our IT department.
This individual will play a crucial role in building and refining internal IT processes, providing hands-on technical support, and contributing to the stability and scalability of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, collaborative, and experienced in both user support and back-end IT operations.
They should be comfortable creating SOPs, managing systems and networks, and working across departments to ensure seamless IT service delivery. Key Responsibilities
- IT Support and Troubleshooting: Provide end-user support across hardware, software, and systems. Troubleshoot hardware, networking, connectivity, and application issues. Provide first and second-line support as required.
- IT Process Design and Implementation: Design and implement IT processes and SOPs (onboarding, asset management, access controls, ticketing systems etc.). Maintain clear documentation and continuously improve IT policies and procedures.
- Networking and Systems Management: Set up and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, Wi-Fi networks, and IP configurations. Monitor system performance and network security using appropriate tools. Support remote access/VPN, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- System Administration: Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access across platforms. Administer internal systems (e.g., email, cloud storage, business tools). Support Windows and Linux-based systems.
- IT Asset and Software Management: Track and manage all IT assets and devices (laptops, printers, routers, etc.). Assist with procurement and software license compliance.
- Reporting and Monitoring: Regularly report on IT incidents, recurring issues, and improvement areas. Maintain a log of resolved and unresolved tickets, and escalate where needed.
- Ad Hoc Projects and Research: Support the rollout of new systems and technology initiatives. Research and suggest innovative IT tools to improve productivity.
Qualifications
IT-related diploma or degree (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration). Microsoft, CompTIA, or Cisco certifications are advantageous. Valid driver's license preferred.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in a similar IT support and operations role. Experience supporting both users and infrastructure. Proven experience setting up or improving IT processes and procedures. Exposure to network administration, systems support, and cloud environments.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IT hardware and systems support. Experience with networking (routing, switching, IP addressing). Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and cloud-based tools. Understanding of security best practices (e.g., firewalls, antivirus, access control).
- People & Communication: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Clear and professional communication across all levels. Able to translate technical language for non-technical users.
- Time & Task Management: Highly organized with strong follow-through. Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently. Comfortable working independently and under pressure.
- Process-Driven and Proactive: Process-oriented thinker with an eye for continuous improvement. Comfortable working without established systems and building from scratch.
