Job Description A large industrial organisation requires an Assistant Trade Accountant for a 6-month period, to assist with processing and reconciling the trade accounts. This is a half-day role 8am to 12pm Monday to Friday with 3 days in-office and 2 days work from home, subject to suitable home office set-up. R21 000 per month.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring that invoice verification is done (daily/weekly/monthly) before payment can be affected.
If any problems on invoices, calculating difference & sending to respective parties to action.
Posting difference to material or ocean freight difference account or any other related cost.
Preparing cash flow for AMSA and balancing back to SAP weekly and analysis report per Hub per mill on spreadsheet.
Sending final spreadsheet of AMSA cash flow to all parties involved.
Let Treasurer know of the amounts for AMSA and MUR payments.
Let Treasurer know of any other amounts for payments to ensure sufficient funds.
Offshore & Non-Mittal purchases including survey, inspection costs - same process for verification/payments as above.
Reconciliation of creditors.
Preparing payments runs.
Down payments for vendors.
Processing bank charges.
Processing of claims for all vendors and then pass onto AR dept.
Updating accrual accounts on a monthly basis.
Updating age analysis on a monthly basis.
Assisting auditors with queries.
Back up for trade accountant.
Ad-hoc queries.
Requirements:
Finance or Accounting degree or diploma.
Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
