Preparatory School Head

Woodridge College & Preparatory School is an ISASA registered, co-education Christian based school situated on a magnificent 365-acre multi-adventure eco-estate between Gqeberha and Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape.

The current Woodridge Preparatory School Head will be retiring at the end of 2025 and the following position is available, effective 1 January 2026.

Preparatory School Head

Woodridge College is seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role as the Head of the Preparatory School. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a dynamic, independent school and make a lasting impact on pupils, staff, parents, alumni, and the broader community.

As Head of Preparatory, you will collaborate with the Board of Trustees, the College Head, the Business Manager, and the Prep’s management team to drive the School’s strategic vision. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining the highest educational and co-curricular standards, reinforcing Woodridge’s reputation as a premier school in Southern Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of dedicated professionals across all spheres of the School, using the School’s strategic plan as your guide.
2. Foster a holistic, innovative, and problem-solving approach to education.
3. Uphold and enhance the unique culture and values of Woodridge.
4. Inspire and motivate staff and pupils to achieve excellence.
5. Stay abreast of local and international educational trends.
6. Champion transformation, diversity, and belonging within the School community.
7. Maintain a nurturing, positive school culture that supports every child’s growth.
8. Oversee all financial aspects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and financial planning.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial requirements for independent schools.
10. Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
11. Exhibit a passion for working with young children and a commitment to safeguarding their welfare.
12. Show commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
13. Hold a recognised postgraduate teaching qualification (further studies advantageous).
14. Have proven senior management and educational leadership experience (Head or Deputy Head role preferred).
15. Possess SACE registration and requisite clearance certificates.
