Qualifications:

1. National Diploma / N6 Mechanical Engineer
2. Trade Test Fitter and Turner

Experience:

1. 10 years’ experience in heavy duty engineering industry as supervisor/foreman
2. Experience in mechanical equipment
3. Maintenance off crop planning and budgeting
4. Sugar industry experience with power generation section
5. Knowledge and experience in reliable, preventive, and predictive maintenance
6. Maintenance and operating knowledge of Boiler Equipment
7. Strong leadership and quality workmanship
8. Computer literate with Planned maintenance system

Duties:

1. Provides leadership to the Power Generation Maintenance Workshop to ensure plant availability.
2. Ensures effective maintenance of mechanical equipment.
3. Monitors daily performance figures to ensure equipment is operating at their optimum efficiency.
4. Carries out special tests to identify sources of inefficiency.
5. Proactively investigates recurring breakdowns or equipment failures.
6. Ensures that the plant is maintained adequately by making use of condition-based monitoring systems.
7. Monitors the condition of the Bearing Cooling Water (BCW) system.
8. Provides a safe working environment for subordinates and ensures compliance with all safety requirements.
