Qualifications:
- National Diploma / N6 Mechanical Engineer
- Trade Test Fitter and Turner
Experience:
- 10 years’ experience in heavy duty engineering industry as supervisor/foreman
- Experience in mechanical equipment
- Maintenance off crop planning and budgeting
- Sugar industry experience with power generation section
- Knowledge and experience in reliable, preventive, and predictive maintenance
- Maintenance and operating knowledge of Boiler Equipment
- Strong leadership and quality workmanship
- Computer literate with Planned maintenance system
Duties:
- Provides leadership to the Power Generation Maintenance Workshop to ensure plant availability.
- Ensures effective maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Monitors daily performance figures to ensure equipment is operating at their optimum efficiency.
- Carries out special tests to identify sources of inefficiency.
- Proactively investigates recurring breakdowns or equipment failures.
- Ensures that the plant is maintained adequately by making use of condition-based monitoring systems.
- Monitors the condition of the Bearing Cooling Water (BCW) system.
- Provides a safe working environment for subordinates and ensures compliance with all safety requirements.
