HANDYMAN: GENERAL BUILDING MAINTENANCE

Essential Health Pharmacy Group is recruiting for experienced, energetic, mature, and reliable handyman / maintenance worker to join our maintenance team. This role requires a hands-on person with a versatile skill set, attention to detail, and the ability to tackle a variety of maintenance issues efficiently.

Due to ongoing expansion of the business, we are always seeking new talent to join our exciting team.

Responsibilities:

1. Execute a variety of handyman tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general repairs.
2. Perform routine maintenance functions on and around sites.
3. Paint and fill holes/cracks (on walls, sidewalks, etc.). Display the knowledge and/or ability to be an expert in the field of being a painter.
4. Collaborate with the team to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
5. Carry out minor/basic repairs and service on all plumbing related equipment.
6. Perform general shopfitting duties including repair of equipment, locks, handles, and tiles.
7. Assist Artisans with major repairs and services.
8. Undertake duties as assigned by management.
9. Identify and report repair needs to management.
10. Perform garden services, maintain and improve green spaces.
11. Detect and report the need for minor to major maintenance repairs.
12. Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces, including parking lots and sidewalks.
13. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a wide range of handyman tasks (Painting, Tiling, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Landscaping, etc.).
2. Basic knowledge/training on a variety of hand tools, electrical and mechanical equipment.
3. Non-endorsed driver's license.
4. Good communication skills.
5. Should be able to handle heights.
6. Good health and energetic.
7. Be able to work within a team.
8. Must be prepared to work weekends and/or public holidays.

Advantageous:

1. Hotel or property maintenance experience advantageous.
2. Matric / NQF 4 Qualification / Trade Certificate.
3. Experience in managing a small team.
4. Health and Safety Qualification.
