Job Description

The incumbent handles the flow of stock in the store.

Duties include: purchasing, receiving and controlling of store stock.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

Greet all customers when passing the retail area

1. Order stock
2. Create purchase orders
3. Ensure orders/stock/products are received speedily and efficiently in the mornings
4. Follow-up on back orders and provide feedback on order progress to store manager
5. Inspect packages for any damages/defaults
6. Receipt and dispatch stock
7. Ensure all products are signed in and out have been receipted and dispatched according to the correct documentation
8. Ensure all products that leave the store are labelled, binned and signed out by checker
9. Pick the correct products off the shelves timeously and in accordance to picking slip
10. Deal with product returns from customer
11. Book products repairs and follow up on product repairs
12. Provide feedback on repairs progress to store manager and customer if required
13. Ensure returns & repairs are labelled and packed accordingly to paperwork
14. Handle any breakages
15. Ensure that all electrical products are tested in store e.g. lamps
16. Ensure dispatch bins are packed efficiently according to dispatch bays
17. Label products, bins and shelves correctly
18. Load and locate all products and bins details correctly on the system
19. Manage inventory and investigate why an item is not in stock when it shows stock on the system and vice versa
20. Pack all parcels with care & mark the applicable products as “fragile”
21. Pack the correct products into branded packaging
22. Complete stock take
23. Replenish stock levels on shelves with low quantities
24. Aisle Maintenance
25. Overall store maintenance and housekeeping (ensure store neat and tidy at all times)
26. Complete all daily stock sheets and perform effective stock management
27. Update success tracker on a daily basis
28. Learn about other department heads & managers to direct customers in the right direction
29. Assist internal sales when necessary/store very busy
30. Manage store Driver on a daily basis

Requirements

1. 1-3 years’ work related skills, knowledge or experience in relevant position
2. Electrical Industry and/or Retail Sales Environment will be advantageous
3. Senior certificate (NQF4) or the equivalent
4. SA citizen or valid work permits
