Job description

To provide comprehensive legal support across the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, managing contracts, supporting governance initiatives, and addressing medico-legal matters.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree: LLB
  • 1-2 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of contract Management and Interpretation

Minimum Work Experience

  • Conduct legal reviews of contracts to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and manage a centralized contract repository to improve document accessibility and streamline contract lifecycle management.
  • Provide legal research and guidance on areas of corporate law, corporate sustainability, and compliance matters to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure legal compliance in contract execution, dispute resolution, and internal governance processes.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Office of the CEO, risk and compliance teams, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment on legal and governance matters.
  • Support contract management processes by working with procurement, finance, and operational teams to ensure contract execution aligns with business needs.
  • Support the Group Legal Manager with the preparation of legal reports, governance updates, and compliance notes for board and executive committee engagements.
  • Demonstrate accountability and self-management by proactively handling legal tasks, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality legal deliverables.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and integrity in all legal interactions, upholding ethical conduct and confidentiality.
  • Streamline legal processes to improve efficiency and reduce resource wastage.
  • Manage PAIA and POPIA compliance efficiently to avoid penalties.
  • Support the Group Legal Manager in negotiating penalties and contract terms that protect the Group from financial loss.
  • Ensure efficient use of legal resources by leveraging contract templates and standardized legal documents.
  • Ensure accurate and timely legal reporting to support decision-making.
  • Standardize legal research report formats for consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain a centralized legal issue tracking system for improved accessibility and tracking.
