Civil Engineer / Technologist
Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of water conservation and demand management initiatives.
- Lead and manage a diverse team of civil technicians, field technicians, and support staff to ensure project success.
- Develop and track project plans, timelines, and budgets for optimal efficiency.
- Conduct in-depth assessments to identify potential water savings and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster alignment and teamwork across various projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, enhancing their skills and performance.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates for senior management review.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies throughout all projects.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid South African Driver’s License.
- South African citizen or holder of a valid work permit for South Africa.
- B Tech (Civil), B Eng (Civil), or B Sc Eng (Civil) from an accredited university.
- Registered as a Candidate with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- Over 5 years of experience in municipal water projects, including water demand management, conservation, metering, and distribution.
- Proven track record in managing engineering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Extensive knowledge of water conservation techniques, demand management strategies, and applicable regulations.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
