The required person’s role will be to effectively implement, maintain and continually improve the Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality and Food Safety Management System whilst ensuring compliance with the applicable minimum HSEQ legal and other requirements.
Key Performance Areas:
Ensure compliance to all applicable legislation concerning Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Ensure that all sites critical HSEQ inspections are conducted, maintained, up to date and filed correctly.
Investigate, manage and ensure that preventive measures are in place for incidents and accidents.
Drive HSEQ awareness on site using toolbox talks, safety awareness campaigns, and visual safety management.
Ensure that HSEQ risk assessments and legal appointments are in place, maintained and filed correctly.
Ensure that the sites comply with CLDC’s safety requirements as well as internal and external compliance audits.
Ensure that all HSEQ filing is up to date and easily retrievable during audits.
Compile monthly safety and sustainability reports for the sites.
Assist in waste Management programme on Site.
Ensure that all contractor work done at each facility is in line with the OHS Act and the Construction Regulations.
Maintain contractor safety files on site and ensure that they are up to date all times.
Conduct periodic site inspections and ensure that all safety hazards and housekeeping issues are addressed.
Implement HSE site induction programme for all employees, contractors and visitors.
Ensure that all SOPs and Quality documentation are implemented on site through regular reviews and engaging all relevant Quality management stakeholders.
Ensure that documents are managed and controlled correctly per QMS system requirements.
Drive the nonconformance system on site and ensure that all deviations are closed timeously.
Conduct HSEQ Management Reviews.
Maintain the BRC Food Safety System and ensure that client KPI’s are achieved.
Ensure the client’s KPI statistics are compiled as required by the clients, presented in monthly meetings.
Ensure that all SOPs and Food Safety documentation are implemented on site through regular reviews and engaging all relevant Food Safety Team Members and management stakeholders.
Ensure that documents are managed and controlled correctly per QMS systems requirements.
Review all RTMS documents monthly and advice management of any deviations.
Ensure that driver and vehicle documentation in files are kept up to date.
Ensure that all vehicle and driver incidents are properly investigated, and preventive measures are implemented.
Audit Driver and Vehicle files bi-annually to ensure compliance with RTMS.
Ensure that driver training is up to date and records are kept on file.
Audit subcontractors to ensure compliance.
Qualifications Required:
Grade 12
Diploma/Degree in Safety Management or equivalent
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in HSEQ and a working knowledge of the Warehouse and Logistics industry
BRC Version 4 Warehouse and Distribution
Internal Auditing
Candidate with previous experience in OHSAS 45001, ISO 14001, RTMS, and ISO 9001 protocols is advantageous
SAMTRAC/NADSAM or equivalent qualification is advantageous.
