The Safety Manager will oversee and implement the company's safety programs, training, and compliance initiatives to reduce workplace hazards and ensure a culture of safety across all job sites.
The ideal candidate will have experience in construction safety management, a strong understanding of OSHA and other regulatory standards, and excellent leadership skills to promote safety awareness and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling of materials and equipment.
- Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
- Conduct investigations of accidents and injuries, compiling and submitting reports as required by regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate safety meetings, training programs, and maintain documentation of safety and health training.
- Maintain safety files and records, and assist with the design and development of safety training materials.
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations, including those issued by OSHA, state and federal agencies, and ensure changes are accurately communicated to employees and incorporated into company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Safety Manager role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA.
- Proven ability to develop and implement safety policies and training programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certifications are preferred.
