Driver/ VIP Protector to the Council Whip (X1)

REFERENCE NUMBER: NDM/CS/27/01/2025

POST LEVEL: 5/9

SALARY SCALE: R721 525 (Total cost to Company/ All-inclusive package)

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. NQF 3: Intermediate Certificate.
  2. Valid Driver’s License.
  3. Use of Firearm/Control Certificate.
  4. Computer Literacy (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point) and typing skills.
  5. Advance/Defensive Driving Certificate, VIP Protection/ and or Bodyguard Training will serve as an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE: The candidate must have a minimum of 1-3 years’ work experience.

DUTIES:

  • Provide driving/ chauffeuring/Protection to the council Whip in the discharge of his official duties.
  • Always ensure fitness and maintenance of the vehicle of the council Whip including washing and cleaning.
  • Report damage and/or vehicle defects to the Office of the council Whip.
  • Maintain a proper record of trips undertaken by the council Whip.
  • Always obtain trip authorization from the Office of the Municipal Manager for the trips being undertaken.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is properly registered.
  • WRITTEN COMMUNICATION: the ability to communicate in writing as appropriate to specific audiences.
  • ORAL COMMUNICATION: the ability to articulate a message in an understandable and convincing manner.
  • ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Ability to scrutinize own work and that of others to ensure accuracy and compliance with the relevant municipal standards.
  • INFLUENCING: the ability to understand the Municipality’s objectives, and the impact of decisions on the community and the functioning of the department.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING: the ability to identify potential problem areas, to break the problem into component parts, generate potential solutions, select an option and implement it.
  • PLANNING AND ORGANISING: the ability to plan activities within specific timeframes and then to execute these activities according to plan.
