Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for local import/export operations. Each day, you will supervise the performance of customs brokers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities within a local unit, including relevant documentation and compliance with regulations. Supports ELSE Business to ensure goods are shipped whilst meeting quality, legal, and costs parameters. Develop, maintain, and improve transport/logistics processes to optimize inbound and/or outbound product and material delivery to external and internal clients. The work model for the role is: Onsite.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Acting as point of contact for customs brokers in case of clarification needs (e.g., regarding valuation or classification of products).
Auditing customs brokers regarding the correctness of customs entries, invoicing, and archiving.
Managing the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
Maintaining and sharing with colleagues, as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses, and restrictions.
Using various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling.
Preparing and updating monthly logistics schedule to ensure deliveries to customer locations and coordinating product delivery schedule with project/sales team.
Coordinating daily activities to track location and movement of finished goods and raw materials via all transport modes, re-routing freight as needed to meet demands and minimize cost.
Communicating fulfilment status to Logistics and Sales organizations as required.
Working closely with transport service providers and brokers to assure efficient, cost-effective execution of business requirements, obtaining necessary transport permits and codes, and preparing transportation paperwork for import and export.
Fulfilling shipping, packing, and advising on marking procedures per project requirements in compliance with governmental regulations.
Supporting the development and implementation of improved processes and systems and maintaining master data when required.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Transport or Logistics management
5 years of relevant experience
Familiar with working on SAP & BOL
Strong knowledge of transport planning and order handling process.
Must be a team player, customer-oriented, and have the ability to perform under pressure
Solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
Microsoft Office experience essential for the role
