Bartender/ Server (full time or part -time)

Meikleour Estate, an historic country estate near Blairgowrie, is recruiting for an experienced Bar Tender/ Server. Our successful candidates will work within its award-winning boutique hotel The Meikleour Arms (AA 4 Star Gold and 1 Rosette, AA Accommodations the Year Scotland 2022). A customer facing position, this is an excellent opportunity to be part of an established and professional team.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Bartending: taking and preparing drink orders and managing the till and bills.
• Take restaurant orders and serve our guests in our award-winning rosette restaurant.
• Ensure guests have an excellent experience through efficient and attentive service.

Remuneration

We are offering a very attractive package up to 40 hours per week: £27,000 a year + around £3,000 tips from an HRMC compliant Tronc system, 28 days paid holiday.

Hourly rate equivalent calculated for overtime: £14.57 (£13/hour + holiday pay) + £1.50 expected tips = just over £16/hour with tips.

We are considering candidates who are looking for 40 hours per week as well as those who would prefer part-time hours (24 or 32 hours a week), salary will be adjusted pro rata.

Hours of Work
To meet the requirements of the hotel, you will be expected to work a blend of morning and evening shifts:

• Morning shift: 7:00 am- 3pm
• Evening shift: 2:30pm – 10:30pm

Essential Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Minimum 1-year previous experience of bar work and FOH.
• Meikleour Arms Hotel is in a rural area with limited public transport, particularly on weekends. All responding candidates must have their own means of transport to allow them to successfully attend their shifts on time.
