Construction Manager (JB5182)
Chintsa, Eastern Cape
R35 – 40 000 CTC per month (Negotiable)
3-year Fixed Term Contract

Seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the RDP housing and clinic construction project in Chintsa, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading construction activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing teams to deliver the project on time and within budget. Candidates that meet all requirements and are available to start by no later than 20 March 2025 are invited to apply.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Degree in a Built Environment field (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, engineering, or contract administration.
  3. Registered as a Built Environment Professional with a recognized professional body.
  4. Experience serving as a Principal Agent, Engineer, Project Manager, or Employer Agent.
  5. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site management, and regulatory compliance.
  6. Proven ability to lead and mentor construction teams, contractors, and emerging professionals.
  7. Knowledge of contract management, procurement, and project risk assessment.
  8. Ability to coordinate with engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, and stakeholders to optimize project outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all construction activities.
  2. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
  3. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet delivery targets.
  4. Lead and mentor construction teams, subcontractors, and junior professionals.
  5. Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to maintain quality and safety.
  6. Work closely with stakeholders, engineers, and municipal authorities to resolve challenges.
  7. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  8. Support the development of training programs, workshops, and mentorship initiatives for site teams.
  9. Prepare and submit technical reports, progress updates, and recommendations to senior management.
