Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Siloam Springs, AR

Location: Siloam Springs, AR, USA

Compensation: $25 - $27 / hour plus bonus potential and benefits

What You'll Do

  1. Manage donor medical needs at Donor Centers and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations under the guidance of the Center Medical / Lab Director.
  2. Educate the potential donor on the plasmapheresis process and what to expect, highlighting the positive impact of plasma donation.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
  4. Evaluate donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical and health histories under supervision of the Center Medical / Lab Director in accordance with FDA approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and all other applicable State and Federal guidelines.
  5. Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure donor suitability, reviewing and evaluating donor screening information to ensure eligibility to donate.
  6. Counsel donors on deferrals due to test results, suitability as a donor, and any other health deferral rationale.
  7. Treat major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
  8. Maintain medical supplies in exam rooms, keep the exam rooms clean and sanitized, and uphold universal precautions by wearing personal protective equipment.
  9. Own medical communication logs with the Center Medical / Lab Director, reviewing all normal and abnormal test results in determining donor suitability.
  10. Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff employees.

Qualifications

  1. Educated and currently certified / licensed in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or equivalent.
  2. Current CPR Certification.
  3. Experience in a GMP environment with plasma or whole blood preferred or related experience in a clinical setting providing medical care and assessing patients.
  4. Physical: Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  5. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
