Job description
Duties/Pligte
Delivering or teaching assigned development finance modules and related modules within other postgraduate programmes in the Business School.
Collaborating with staff to create and deliver a transformative learning experience for students in development finance and generally for students at the Business School.
Publishing and disseminating research in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals, high-impact books, and cases.
Through teaching and research, promoting the social impact of Stellenbosch Business School.
Supervising postgraduate research at master's and PhD levels.
Actively engaging and participating in Stellenbosch University's activities and Business School life.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
(For appointment as a Senior Lecturer):
A PhD in the field of development finance, finance, or economics awarded by a recognised university.
Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment, and student support at the postgraduate level in the relevant subject area.
Experience in the design and development of module content.
Established record of research, or publication in nationally and internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals.
Successfully completed postgraduate supervision.
Good organisational and personal management skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to creating impact through research and scholarship.
(For appointment as an Associate Professor):
PhD in the field of development finance, finance, or economics awarded by a recognised university.
National and international recognition as a researcher.
A sustained record of research and research publications in nationally and internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals.
A record of past research and a future research agenda relevant to development finance.
Supervision and examination at PhD and master's levels.
Teaching and the scholarship of teaching relevant to development finance, with evidence of, or potential for academic leadership of postgraduate programmes.
Commitment to creating impact through research and scholarship.
Academic management and leadership skills.
Quantitative and qualitative evidence of teaching experience.
Good organisational and personal management skills.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Evidence of commitment to creating impact through research and scholarship.

An international scholarly experience or network in the financial services industry.
A proven track record of serving on committees of relevant professional bodies.
