Job Description

Main Responsibilities :

  • Manage complex, multi-disciplinary building projects from inception to completion, leading diverse technical teams.
  • Execute Aviation projects successfully by meeting stakeholder expectations, maintaining commercial excellence, achieving quality outputs and driving team cohesion and satisfaction.
  • Budgetary and financial responsibility for Aviation projects.
  • Project tendering and preparation.
  • Project resource management, including management of project resources over multiple locations.
  • Business development and client liaison at project level.
  • Growing market position within existing client groups through quality project execution.
  • Growing and managing new and existing client relationships through quality project execution.
  • Engage clients, determining their needs, qualify opportunities, developing custom solutions and compiling proposal documents.
  • Negotiating and concluding new assignments with Clients.
  • Developing, reviewing and executing project contract documents.
  • Contribute to strategic growth of the Aviation advisory group team.
  • Other project and operational support as required.

Apron Systems Engineer

  • Responsible for Apron Systems design work (e.g. PBB, GPU, VDGS etc.) according to international airport codes and standards like ICAO.
  • Produce the relevant technical modelling and drawing work in all its aspects (layouts, schematics, details, etc.) using project specified software such as AutoCAD.
  • Carry out associated calculations for input into the design reports, specifications and the bills of quantities.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams within BIM environment.
  • On project level operate as an integral member of the design team and interact with other discipline designers, such as civil (pavements and geometry) and airside systems.
  • Co-operate with and share knowledge with other designers within the Aviation Team.

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience :

  • Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree is a minimum requirement.
  • Post Graduate Project Management Qualification is beneficial.
  • A minimum of 6 years post graduate experience managing multi-disciplinary projects as a consultant and preferably in the private / aviation sector.
  • Professional registration with a relevant body is preferred (ECSA and / or PMI).
  • Demonstrable experience on multidisciplinary design coordination, preferably on Aviation related projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk software, specifically AutoCAD. Experience in Civil 3D and Revit is advantageous.
  • Ability to liaise with relevant stakeholders on all levels and throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Commercial / design / project management competencies / experience, comfortable with playing a central role in both project acquisition, design and execution, with excellent communication skills.
  • Competent report writing skills and excellent communication ability.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with a focus on quality of output.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines and handle pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills.
  • Client centric approach.
  • Accountable and responsible, with the ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure.
