Charters Specialist
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of costings and proposals for charters (Trip cost estimates).
- Liaison with Scheduling Manager regarding aircraft and crew availability and efficient utilization of the crew.
- Liaise with the Legal section regarding Charter Agreements, ensuring all relevant inclusions, exclusions, and payment terms are covered.
- Liaise with customers regarding the conclusion of the Charter Agreement and maintain regular interaction with them.
- Hold pre-flight briefings with all concerned on charter flights, ensuring all sections are aware of charter details.
- Monitor all aspects of the charter flight.
- Reconcile and verify all charter flight costs and ensure all payment terms are met.
- Ensure business development through follow-up on quotes provided and prospecting new customers through research and ideas.
- Keep abreast of new developments.
- Assist the Manager: Charters with the control of the section's Fixed Expenses and Budget.
- Liaise with the Groups section regarding work synergies.
- Ensure efficient management of Charters and Contracts.
- Build a database and knowledge on competitors operating in the same market.
- Prepare Presentations and Reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12.
- Travel/Marketing Diploma or Degree will be an advantage.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in English (speak, read, and write).
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Able and willing to work after hours, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Willingness to travel.
- Valid Passport and Health Certificates (e.g., Yellow Fever).
- Knowledge of aircraft performance and experience in the aviation industry.
- Product knowledge within the markets of operation will be a definite advantage.
