Diesel Technician Mechanic Job Responsibilities:

• Servicing client and ensuring complete client satisfaction on site in Nelspruit.
• Responsible for the service and maintenance of all equipment and machinery.
• Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements.
• Correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
• Machine Assessments, Reports and Presentation.
• Own Tools are essential.
• Responsible for other tasks on site as and when required.

Job Duties:

• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keeps equipment available for use by installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, adjusting, assembling, and disassembling major assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Completes machine shop operations, making adjustments and alignments including bearing pre-loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, and clutches.
• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine safety and combustion control standards.
• Makes vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Contains costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and verifying receipt.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, bulletins, and online training.
• Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
