Senior Specialist Business Continuity Management

Role Purpose/Business Unit:

1. To maintain the Vodacom Business Continuity Management System in conformance with the ISO 22301 standard.
2. To ensure conformance to the Vodafone Business Resilience Policy and related controls.
3. To ensure conformance to the Vodacom Group Business Continuity Management Policy and related continuity procedures, guidelines and frameworks.
4. To coordinate resources across groups within the local markets for testing, exercising, meetings and workshops related to business continuity projects, tasks and initiatives.
5. To develop BCM and Crisis Management project schedules and manage projects across the local markets.
6. To ensure that workable alternative crisis communication strategies are implemented and maintained.
7. To undertake Business Continuity Management Tasks as required by the Principal Specialist and Crisis Management as required by the Executive Head Business Resilience.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Develop and maintain the Business Impact Analysis to identify critical business activities and or services and the impact during disruption.
2. Design recovery strategies, arrangements and tactics to ensure the continuation of critical business activities.
3. Implement continuity and recovery strategies/arrangements through the development and maintenance of business continuity plans.
4. Ensuring the Crisis Management Plans and pertaining deliverables are continually up to date.
5. Validate the business continuity and crisis management capability through testing and exercising of the relevant plans and their arrangements.
6. Assessment of critical suppliers to determine their business continuity capabilities.
7. Administration and maintenance of the Business Resilience Information System.
8. Maintenance of the Vodafone Business Continuity and Crisis Management (BCCC) Policy controls.
9. To prepare the business and collate the relevant information for the ISO22301 certification.
10. To maintain an effective alternative crisis communication strategy.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

1. A degree or equivalent qualification in Business Management (Essential).
2. Project Management certification or higher (Beneficial).
3. Business Continuity Management certification (CBCI/ MBCI/ ISO22301) (Essential).
4. Additional professional relevant certification will be an advantage.
5. Business Management certification (Preferable).

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

1. Minimum of 5 years experience within a business environment with exposure to operational and business processes (Essential).
2. Minimum of 3 Years experience as project manager or project leader (Essential).
3. Minimum of 5 years experience in Business Continuity Management operations pertaining to the BCi Good Practice Guidelines and ISO 22301 standard (Essential).
4. Experience in a Telco will be an advantage.
5. Experience in audit will be an advantage.
6. Having in-depth knowledge of Vodacom’s business processes and functions will be an advantage.
