Quality Assurance Auditor

An exciting opportunity exists at Nampak Metals-Springs for a QA Auditor. This position reports directly to the QA Technologist and is graded at Peromnes 10.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide weekly process capability, CTQ, trend analysis, and customer reports.
2. Liaise with Engineering and Production to ensure CTQ parameters are within specification.
3. Accurate and timely drafting of various reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) and sending to appropriate people.
4. Conduct process and systems audits based on FSSC 22000 requirements.
5. Verification of all Quality checks to ensure they are conducted as defined in the quality plan.
6. Review checks conducted and ensure that test results are transferred to Datalyser.
7. Management and calibration (external & internal) of gauges and testing equipment.
8. Raising and closing out assigned NCR’s (Non-Conformance Reports) on Q-Pulse timeously.
9. Providing on-the-job training for all Canmakers using quality system documentation.
10. Support trials for raw materials as and when required.
11. Raising NCR’s for non-conforming raw material for supplier corrective action.
12. Management and control of documents and procedures on Q-Pulse.
13. Implementing corrective actions and solving issues raised on the QAR.
14. Maintaining 5S and housekeeping standards in the QA Labs and QA Office.
15. Contribute to the Manufacturing Excellence Program to drive continuous improvement in the plant.
16. Maintaining and implementing the Food Safety Management System (FSSC 22000).

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

1. Relevant National Diploma or Degree in Food Science and/or Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, and other related Quality Management Qualification.
2. 2 years’ experience in an auditing, quality control, and/or quality assurance role.
3. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
4. Must have Quality & Food Safety System knowledge.
5. Demonstrate confidence, good communication skills, and quality knowledge/experience.
6. Must be able to work independently and under pressure.
7. Must be computer literate.
8. Must be able to work overtime if and when required.
