The Night Auditor ensures smooth operation of hotel processes during the overnight shift, combining guest services and administrative duties. This role is responsible for balancing financial records, auditing daily transactions, handling guest check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial and Accounting Duties:
Perform nightly audit of hotel financial transactions and prepare daily reports for management.
Reconcile daily guest accounts, process payments, and ensure the accuracy of all charges.
Balance financial transactions.
Generate and distribute invoices, including adjustments or corrections where needed.
Guest Services:
Handle guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
Assist guests with inquiries, reservations, and requests during the night shift.
Resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and escalate as necessary.
Provide concierge services such as local area information and directions.
Administrative Duties:
Prepare and distribute shift reports and other documentation as required by management.
Update room availability, rates, and other pertinent information in the hotel management system.
Monitor security systems and ensure the safety of guests and staff during the overnight shift.
Communicate and coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address issues or requests.
Operational Support:
Monitor the lobby and public areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
Perform end-of-day processing tasks including posting room and tax charges, balancing accounts, and auditing guest folios.
Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Qualification in hospitality.
2 or 3 years of experience in hospitality.
Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts calmly.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Flexible schedule, including availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
