Job description
- Relevant administrative and legal qualification is essential, particularly knowledge of King Codes and Companies Act.
- Compliance management certificate or similar certification.
- 5-8 years relevant work experience.
- Governance and compliance experience in an agricultural environment will be a distinct advantage.
- Must have a valid drivers licence.
- Ability to work independently.
- Contract management and negotiation experience is crucial.
- Results driven with sense of urgency.
- Experience in the regulatory environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of corporate process is important.
- To be considered for appointment, candidate must be a South African citizen.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the CEO
- Secretarial duties to Joint Venture Companies
- Implement and maintain a structured and organised document retention system.
- Maintain statutory books, including registers of members, directors, and secretaries.
- Schedule meetings in accordance with annual company work plans.
- Coordinate and collate Board and other meeting packs, and distribution thereof.
- Organise, prepare agendas and attend meetings, take and distribute minutes, formulate decision matrixes and attend to action plans.
- Participate in meeting discussions as and when required and provide governance advice to members and management.
- Deal with correspondence, collating information and writing reports to ensure that decisions made are communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee systems that ensure the companies comply with all applicable codes.
- Prepare and review company contracts.
- Logistical arrangements including travelling claims and venues.
