While a completed TEFL certification is essential for your application, if you don't have one yet, there's no need to worry. We provide an in-house, globally recognized 120-hour TEFL course, which is essential for building a successful career as an online English teacher.

Success criteria:

1. 3 years' experience as an Online English Teacher/Tutor.
2. Must be an English first-language speaker.
3. Can speak conversational Spanish (A1-B1 level).

Position details:

Start Date: Immediate

Location: Work from home

Scheduling: Teachers enjoy part-time, hourly schedules. Academic support is needed seven days a week, 24 hours each day, thus a variety of availabilities can be accommodated. You will be leading small group classes and private classes as well as providing feedback on student work.

Students: You will teach adult students.

Remuneration: Set base rate of 7.5 USD per hour.

Training: Training and ongoing professional development throughout the contract.

Contract type: You will be contracted by The Really Great Teacher Company as an Independent Service Provider.

Requirements:

1. Must have prior experience teaching English, preferably as a second language, online experience preferred.
2. Can speak conversational Spanish (A1-B1 level).
3. Completed, accredited 120-hour TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent.
4. General awareness of and ability to apply the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
5. Familiarity with ESL assessments, with the ability to evaluate and create assessments.
6. Must be able to communicate in English both clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
7. Must provide ten (10) hours minimum of availability each week (including five (5) peak time hours). Peak hours are Monday through Friday, between 6:00 pm ET and 1:00 am ET.
8. Highly computer literate.
9. No criminal record.
10. Great communication skills.
11. Excellent timekeeping and punctuality.

Advantageous:

1. Currently enrolled in or has completed a degree program at an accredited institution of higher education in Linguistics, Education, English, Modern Languages or Literature, or a related field.
2. Bachelor's degree or higher.
