"Our client specializing in Renewable Energy is seeking an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER with solar renewable energy industry experience to join our client’s team based in SOMERSET WEST, CAPE TOWN."
Provide operations, service, and sales departments with engineering support as needed. Understand the optimal design applications and design limitations of our standard products and lead the evaluation of alternate products. Creating plans for developing, monitoring, and evaluating a solar electrical system. Design and engineer solar PV systems by conducting site assessments and energy production analyses. Develop system layouts, electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), and component specifications to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Experience with PV Sol and Homer software. (won’t necessarily do the design but need to understand the designs and be able to pick up mistakes). Determine system size, configuration, and component selection based on customer needs and site conditions. Providing and updating BOQ’s/BOM’s for projects. Prepare detailed technical documents, system specifications, design calculations, and drawings. Stay up to date with local, regional, and national codes, standards, and regulations related to solar PV system design and installation. Ensure designs and installations adhere to safety guidelines and obtain necessary permits and certifications. Develop quality assurance procedures to verify the accuracy and integrity of solar PV system designs. Conduct inspections and audits during the installation and commissioning stages to ensure adherence to design specifications.
