Responsibilities:
Counselling Services: Provide holistic counselling addressing academic, social, and emotional aspects. Assist in developing coping skills and resilience.
Collaboration: Work with teachers to address academic and behavioural concerns. Collaborate with parents for student development, involving them as needed.
Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises, providing support to students, staff, and parents. Coordinate external resources when necessary.
Record Keeping: Maintain confidential records of sessions, assessments, and interventions. Provide regular updates on student progress to administration and parents.
Professional Development: Stay updated on counselling trends and attend relevant training.
Referrals to Psychologists: Recognize the need for external assistance in severe cases, collaborating with psychologists. Responsibilities include assessment, communication, referral facilitation, follow-up, and advocacy for students' best interests.
Extended Support for Students: Provide extended support through identification, individualized plans, collaboration, monitoring, advocacy, and referrals to external resources.
