As part of this global movement, we develop leaders that transform the education system from within and through classroom impact - we call them Fellows. Our youth leaders / Fellows are hand-picked, not only from within the education system but also from critical skills backgrounds such as engineering.

Calling all Educators!

Teach the Nation invites Novice Educators who are permanently employed to join our leadership development program. The program is fully funded and requires no expense from the successful candidate. Our focus is on under-resourced schools to bring about educational equity in South Africa. We are partnered with Teach For All and 57 other Educational Organisations worldwide. The Fellowship is a two-year leadership development opportunity for educators, designed to bring positive change in the lives of learners in their schools while developing sought-after leadership skills.

The Fellowship Program Overview :

  • 2x 30-minute virtual coaching sessions per month suitable according to your schedule
  • 1x Professional Peer Learning Community (PPLC) contact session per term (1x Saturday)
  • Attend our Summer Institute in January, March, and June school holidays
  • Please note this program does not require any examinations but does require commitment, participation, and completion of the skills development pathways
  • You will obtain a Leadership Certificate Accreditation at the end of the 2-year period
  • You will then be incorporated and interact with our Alumni Program, working with our vast network of teacher leaders from around the world

Job Requirements

  • You are currently a permanently employed educator working in an under-resourced school (Foundation or Senior Phase)
  • You are between the ages of 22 - 35
  • You have between 0 and 5 years of Teaching Experience
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Education or any teaching-related qualification or hold a PGCE
  • You are teaching one of the following subjects: Any Science, Technology, Languages, Arts, Mathematics, Agriculture, Coding, Business and Accounting
  • You are based in Limpopo and teach in a Rural, Township, or Urban Primary School, High School, School of Skill, Vocational, and/or Special Needs School
  • You are a South African citizen
  • You are SACE Registered or in the process of registering
