Main purpose of role

Head up warehouse and manage the team to ensure internal & external service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Managing intake, preparation and loading of cargo for export purposes.
2. Maintain accurate material levels.
3. Facilitating and maintaining CAA, PPECB & ZA audit requirements.
4. Management of loading equipment and vehicles.
5. Managing costs according to financial budget.
6. Ensure operating costs are kept to a minimum.
7. Housekeeping and maintenance.
8. Recruit, Select, Orient, Coach and motivate employees.
9. Manage warehouse staff, including scheduling shifts, delegating tasks and ensuring adherence to company policies.
10. Managing all SLA’s.
11. Creating and implementing client specific SOPs.

Job related requirements

1. Minimum of 8 years’ experience as Warehouse Manager in perishable Air Freight exports and imports environment.
2. Excellent understanding of industry and related job requirements for Freight Forwarding.
3. Experience in facilitating CAA audits and maintaining Air Cargo Security Manual accordingly.
4. Experience in facilitating PPECB audits and maintaining facility according to PPECB specific standards.
5. Experience in staff management: building and leading a team to perform at maximum capacity.
6. Extensive knowledge pertaining to airlines, ground handlers and official departments.
7. CargoWise 1 knowledge/ experience.
8. CAT 6.
