Job Description:

The DevOps Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment, implementation and support of new or revised applications and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and production stability activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning and risk technology to meet specific business needs or user areas. Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
  2. Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
  3. Provide technical, business, operational and monitoring support for users of Citi applications. This includes providing quick resolutions to app issues, driving stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to help us and the business succeed.
  4. Manage, maintain and support applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality and functionality against service level expectations.
  5. Start of day checks, continual monitoring using ITRS/Geneos, end of day handovers.
  6. Assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
  7. Raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams, while adhering to Service Level Agreements.
  8. Consider implications of the application of technology to the current environment. Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues; communicate impact.
  9. Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement.
  10. Recommend security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality.
  11. Partner with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
  12. Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
  13. Develop and maintain technical support documents.
  14. Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure continuity of business to users.
  15. Communicate with stock exchange in raising queries and production issues. Demonstrate knowledge of market structure, legal requirements, and order routing.
  16. Serve as advisor to stakeholders and/or other team members.
  17. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
  2. Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
  3. Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

The successful candidate will work closely with our production support team and provide backup coverage for business critical processes.

Desirable skills:

  1. Working knowledge of JIRA and Project workflows.
  2. Working knowledge of linux/unix.
  3. Working knowledge of Python/Shell scripting.
  4. Knowledge of Investment banking, Equities Cash Markets and Equities Derivatives Markets.

The successful candidate will work as a part of our InCountry technical team supporting our Markets business.
