Cycle Lab is the biggest cycling retail in the country with superstores in Fourways, Boksburg, Pretoria and Cape Town and new convenience stores in Paarl and Ballito.
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced E-Commerce Manager to take it to the next level. The successful candidate will be Johannesburg-based and a passionate cyclist.
They will have a combination of technical, managerial, and digital marketing skills as well as the ability to "close a deal." This role is all about developing and executing comprehensive e-commerce growth strategies, and always improving the customer experience. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, data analysis, and understanding of the online retail market is key to the successful execution of this role.
You will work closely with the merchandising, web operations, and marketing divisions to develop a tactical plan to ensure the digital footprint of the business grows, retaining and acquiring new fans and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a content team, ensuring that our online product range is up to date and perfectly merchandised.
- Optimize website performance and user experience by conducting regular audits, implementing A/B testing, and utilizing data-driven insights to improve conversion rates and customer engagement.
- Monitor and stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in e-commerce and digital marketing to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute e-commerce initiatives and activities to drive online sales and enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Craft a clear content strategy with measurable outcomes.
- Develop and implement comprehensive e-commerce strategies and plans aligned with business objectives to drive online sales growth.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and drive business growth.
- Utilize industry best practices, emerging technologies, and digital marketing techniques to optimize the e-commerce website's performance.
- Analyze data, including web analytics and customer insights, to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Monitor and respond to customer feedback, reviews, and ratings to maintain a positive brand image and improve customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports on the performance of the e-commerce platform, including key metrics, sales trends, customer behavior, and campaign effectiveness.
- Service preferred marketplaces.
- Develop website testing framework to improve conversion rates.
- Drive the segmented marketing/direct communication strategy in terms of customer buying history and profile, using Power BI.
- Forecast and report financial results weekly/monthly to identify growth opportunities.
- Daily analytics oversight into website performance through platforms like Google Analytics, SEMRush, Similarweb, etc.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, IT, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in e-commerce management, preferably in a retail or consumer goods industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing strategies and tactics, including SEO, SEM, social media advertising, email marketing, and affiliate marketing.
- Proficiency in using e-commerce platforms and CMS systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
- Experience using Excel and analytics software (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Experience using email & SMS platforms.
