The Position
Portland Parks & Recreation is looking for Drag Racing Staff to join the team at Portland International Raceway Dragstrip!
What you’ll get to do:
- Help set up and take down event timing systems.
- Follow appropriate sanction rules, using required legal documents.
- Provide visible public relations on roadways within PIR to ensure participants remain at a low, safe speed off track.
- Help participants by directing them to the designated areas to begin the race event.
- Help maintain track surface to prevent undue accidents.
- Provide assistance to EMT and other track officials, should an on-track incident occur.
- Make every effort to provide a safe environment for guests and participants.
- Be aware of any unusual consumption of beverages; no alcohol can be on PIR grounds except those for sale in concessions per State & Local Laws.
- Behave in a respectable manner to all staff at the event and respect direction by Event Management & PIR Management.
- Complete any business-related requests asked of you by management.
The positions available are part-time Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings from March through early October. These are Community Service Aide (CSA I) positions with a maximum of 1,400 hours in a calendar year.

Location: This position is fully in-person. Position will report to Portland International Raceway (1940 N Victory Blvd, Portland, OR 97217).

To Qualify
Qualification Needed:
- Ability to lift/push/carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- Able to reach supplies in multiple areas up to 6′ off ground.
- Ability to react/move quickly to avoid dangerous situations that may be created by moving vehicles.
- Ability to maintain focused attention on the job at hand, and everyone around you, to ensure we operate safely.
- Ability to communicate & conduct interactions with others in a positive manner.
