Distribution Clerk
Job description
Our client is looking for a Distribution Clerk to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate invoicing, supporting counter sales, and ensuring smooth distribution operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain picking slips and ensure all approvals are in place for accurate invoicing.
- Execute proper handover of 3-part invoices for loading to checkers.
- File copies of tax invoices and maintain a picking slip register.
- Cross-check and confirm existing picking slips using status reports.
- Adhere to warehouse and distribution policies and best practices.
- Provide excellent customer service and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Obtain proof of delivery (PODs) from drivers and escalate any discrepancies.
- Capture orders on Syspro.
- Print and book daily export collections and trip sheets for couriers.
- Manage and distribute picking slips for daily operations.
- Assist with daily route planning and accept/remove picking slips from the printer.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence.
- 3–5 years of administrative and customer service experience (advantageous).
- Experience with Syspro data capturing.
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12.
- National Diploma or Higher Certificate in Logistics or Transportation (preferred).
