Distribution Center Manager

Job Purpose : Responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the Centre, ensuring the timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage all aspects of the Service Centre operations, including receiving, warehousing, and distribution of products.
2. Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service levels.
3. Oversee inventory control processes to minimize losses and ensure accurate stock levels.
4. Manage and coordinate the workforce, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
5. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
6. Optimize logistics and transport arrangements to achieve cost savings and timely deliveries.
7. Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
8. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.
9. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows.
10. Handle budget management, cost control, and financial planning for the Centre.

7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse / distribution environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Service Centre or Distribution Centre management role.
3. Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high-volume distribution.
4. Proficiency in ERP and WMS software.
5. Knowledge of lean principles and process improvement methodologies is an advantage.
