Distance Learning Facilitator: Animation and Motion Design

The SAE Institute Distance (online) Campus is looking for an enthusiastic Animation & Motion Design Lecturer (Remote Position) to join our academic team and guide aspiring animators toward success!

The post requires impeccability in every aspect of the qualification's academic integrity, student support, academic content development, evaluation, moderation, and assessment of learning as well as supporting SAE Institute's vision and mission.

Requirements

1. Essential Qualifications & Experience:
2. Initial bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in a related field (Animation and Motion Design, Digital Arts, etc.)
3. A minimum of 2 years lecturing/teaching experience within higher education
4. Experience in the field of 2D or 3D animation of a minimum of 2 years preferred
5. Experience in Online Facilitation and workshop facilitation skills in an academic or training environment of a minimum of 2 years preferred
6. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in 2D digital and cutout animation and relevant software (preferably Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe software suite, particularly Photoshop and possibly Adobe Animate or similar 2D animation software)
7. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in 3D animation, sculpting, and software (preferably Blender)
8. Online facilitation experience beneficial, with a fundamental understanding of curriculum and assessment management and improvement, and gradebook management
9. Proficient in Learning Management Systems and MS Office computer software
10. Strong administrative ability
11. Skills in either storyboarding, asset creation/concept art (for games) or motion graphics is an additional requirement
12. Possess communication, interpersonal skills, administrative skills, be organized and possess good time management skills
13. Collaborative and willing to work with fellow lecturers and the HOA to support students
14. Knowledge of academic compliance within the higher education sector
15. Proficient in computer software, apps, social media, and technology in general
