Dispatch Manager

Our well-established client is currently seeking a Dispatch Manager to join their team.

Overview:

Must be familiar with a variety of orders and procedures. The Dispatch Manager shares accountability with the senior production and planning managers for quantitative production, as well as ensuring compliance with the company’s planning scheduling. Responsible for managing the dispatchers and production goals. They also need to liaise with Transporters and are responsible for hiring, terminating, reviewing, weekly payroll preparation, mentoring, and training the dispatchers.

Responsibilities:

• Utilises computerized work order and other systems to determine job assignments.
• Accounts for scheduled work and maintains knowledge of the status and location of the staff throughout the workday to accomplish review of work performed and/or reassignment of uncompleted work.
• Receives requests for orders and consolidation from planning and executes orders as per consolidation.
• Prepares performance evaluations for dispatch staff.
• Performs related duties as assigned, with a goal to maximise orders and improve delivery, as well as reducing delivery delays by diagnosing problems and providing effective customer support over the telephone.
• Prompt communication on short load or balances before delivery leaves the company.
• Assist with stocktake.

Requirements:

• Matric.
• Certificate/Diploma – Production Management preferred.
• 2-3 years experience.

• Ability to accept and carry out instructions.
