Primarily, the role requires support and leadership to the Mine Closure Team. Raise the profile of the team within the mining industry and improve project backlog. Improve ability to deliver quality, on time and within budget.
Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company's health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you. Contribute to the identification of SHEQ risks and drive processes to achieve Zero Harm. Embrace, display and promote the company values and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
Demonstrable closure experience is a must, as well as entrenched knowledge of the mining sectors in South Africa and Africa, particularly within the field of rehabilitation and closure.
Other competencies include:
15 years' experience in Mine Closure and environmental management aspects is a bonus. Ability to lead and guide high performing teams. High level communication and presentation skills. Experience in developing client relationships and contributing to business growth. Experience in the mining, manufacturing, oil and gas and energy sectors will be an asset. Experience in South Africa and other countries in Africa will be an asset.
Minimum fifteen years' relevant experience in compilation of mine rehabilitation and closure plans, conducting closure costs / asset retirement obligation assessments, with additional experience in related environmental management aspects a bonus.
