Job description

Job purpose:

Lesaka is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing digital communication strategies to enhance Lesaka’s online presence and brand reputation. This role involves creating engaging content for various digital platforms, including social media, website, and email campaigns. The Specialist collaborates with stakeholders and agency partners to align digital communications with overall business goals, ensuring consistent and effective messaging. Additionally, they analyse the performance of digital campaigns, conduct A/B testing, and use analytics to optimise strategies and improve engagement. Your role would be very hands-on, execution focused, and requires great energy and the ability to collaborate with others and move with speed.


The primary focus of this role is to support the website, social media, and internal communication channels for the Lesaka Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Lesaka Group Website:

    • Content coordination and governance
    • Content management and audits
    • Technical and supplier management
    • Applying best practices
    • Managing analytics, search engine optimization, etc.
  • Social Media:

    • Writing copy or partnering with an agency
    • Community management and driving engagement
    • Scheduling and publishing of content (currently with agency; look at migrating later)
    • Measurement and reporting (currently with agency; look at migrating later)
    • Monitoring social media channels for industry trends and competitor activities, and making recommendations as needed
  • Digital Internal Communications:

    • Email delivery
    • Content maintenance and management for the Lesaka Hub (intranet)
    • CEO support where required
    • Providing digital support for internal communications campaigns
    • Providing recommendations on digital user experience

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience in a digital communications role or similar
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferable: In Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; or a similar qualification.

Skills / Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, and email marketing
  • Ability to develop, manage, and optimize content across various digital platforms, such as websites, blogs, and social media
  • Expertise in managing social media accounts, including content scheduling, community engagement, and performance analysis
  • Skilled in using web analytics tools to measure and improve the effectiveness of digital campaigns
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and agency partners
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing digital trends and technologies
  • Creative thinker with the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment
