Specifications:

1. Support the Workshop Foreman in a constructive manner, ensuring that the internal department relationships are properly maintained.
2. Present exemplary task performance.
3. Personally manage work efficiently.
4. Properly record all hours worked and sold.
5. Ensure that all lubricants used are recorded on the job card.
6. Ensure that all parts used are recorded on the job card. Use systems and processes in place as instructed by management. This process may change from time-to-time, your understanding is important and adherence crucial to the success of job card completion.
7. Record the use of consumable items.
8. Build sound relationships with parts staff.
9. Ensure that all tasks performed comply with minimum standards required by FAW SA.
10. Participate in all relevant training programs.
11. Share your new knowledge with others.
12. Take note to do personal learning and self-development.
13. When you attend a breakdown – be courteous to customer staff and customer/manager.
14. Be properly dressed in correct PPE.
15. Ensure the vehicle in which you drive is properly cleaned and presentable.
16. Make sure that you understand what the job required is, so that you are well prepared to attend to the breakdown effectively.
17. Obey the rules of the road, all traffic fines will be routed to the offender.
18. Ensure a good working relationship with colleagues and peers. This includes apprentices at all levels of training. Create sound mentor/apprentice relationship.
19. Support peers and learners, do concrete skills transfer and promote an atmosphere of high levels of productivity.
20. Set an example in terms of timekeeping.
21. Ensure that all warranty claims are correctly diagnosed in terms of the 3 C’s: Complaint, Cause, and Correction.
22. Take ownership of apprentices assigned to you. Ensure that the skills transfer is properly done, and that each apprentice has equal opportunity to successfully complete his apprenticeship.
23. Diligently complete all documentation regarding apprenticeship, such as logbooks.
24. Ensure that all Health and Safety rules are always adhered to.
25. Encourage colleagues to do the same.
26. Proper adherence to company rules regarding the use of tools, special tools, and company assets.
27. Always keep your workplace neat and tidy.
28. Promote wellness and encourage confidence in job analysis and understanding within the team.
29. Always wear correct PPE per job.
30. It is your responsibility with your foreman to manage your hours worked including overtime, conforming to the Labour Relations Act.

Requirements:

1. Matric
2. Diesel Trade Test Completed
3. Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar role
4. Code 14 licence with PDP
5. Technical expertise, understanding, and knowledge
