INTERNAL WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN (DIESEL MECHANIC)

BASED HUMANSDORP

The Internal Service Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently repairing agricultural machinery according to quality standards.

Key Performance Areas

1. Execute repairs and maintenance to all makes and models of agricultural machinery.
2. Responsible for health and safety of himself and his team.
3. Accurate timekeeping.
4. Control of parts, materials, and consumables needed for jobs in progress.
5. Return of any parts designated as in exchange scheme to Parts Department.
6. Cleaning and return of displaced warranty parts to warranty stores.
7. Recording return to Parts Department of any unused parts issued.
8. Metering and recording of lubricants used.
9. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of own work area.
10. Report equipment and facility faults and condition to Owner.
11. Maintain company tools in a safe and efficient condition.
12. Effective and efficient repair of vehicles as instructed, within designated repair time.
13. Report and write up additional repair work found during work on machines.
14. Identify parts required and correctly order from Parts Department or workshop counter.
15. Complete job write-up after finishing work and vehicle handover.
16. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and equipment.
17. Maximize labour hours per day to earn monthly bonuses.
18. Maintain a positive approach.
19. Perform any other function which management may require from time to time.

Experience and Qualifications

1. 3-7 years experience as a mechanic within the agriculture sector is advantageous.
2. Well-rounded in mechanical and electrical areas.
3. Valid Code 08 Driver's License including own reliable transport.
4. Prepared and keen to travel periodically (locally, regionally).
