DevOps/Data Analyst

Project description

The UK branch of a Japanese bank, which is supporting the derivatives section in Europe and Tokyo, is looking for a person who will be able to maintain in-house trading pricing and risk software's infrastructure. The role involves working together with Corporate IT to support and enhance the grid (IBM Symphony) and the batches that are running for calculations.

Responsibilities

• Linux/network infrastructure implementation and support
• Data analysis
• Support Quants and Dev team

SKILLS

Must have

• IBM Symphony Support: Health monitoring, job scheduling management, responding to alerts related to job failures, system performance issues, or other anomalies. Applying necessary patches, updates, and hotfixes. Regularly performing system backups and developing disaster recovery strategies.
• Data Integration: Integrating data from various internal and external sources to support business analytics and reporting (e.g., from APIs, third-party services, or internal systems).
• Data Collection and ETL: Ensuring that data is collected, cleaned, and transformed for analysis. Automating ETL processes to ensure continuous data flow for analysis.
• Collaboration Between DevOps and Data Teams: Acting as a bridge between DevOps and Data teams. Ensuring that data pipelines are built to support continuous delivery and integration, and vice versa—optimizing infrastructure for data workflows.

Nice to have

• Continuous Learning: Staying updated on industry trends in both DevOps and data analysis to ensure that systems and processes are optimized using the latest technologies.
• Documentation: Documenting code, data pipelines, workflows, and processes for transparency and future scalability.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicating complex data or infrastructure topics to non-technical stakeholders in an understandable manner.
