Deputy Head: Student Affairs

The Deputy Head: Student Affairs is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining a positive and conducive learning environment for students, overseeing discipline and boarding. If you are passionate about creating a supportive learning environment, fostering positive student behaviour, and managing boarding effectively, we encourage you to apply for this vital position which is available from 2025.

As the Deputy Head of Student Affairs, you will ensure the overall wellbeing, safety, and success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Boarding Facilities Management
  2. Student Support and Counselling
  3. Parent and Community Engagement
  4. Policy Development and Compliance
  5. Staff Supervision and Training

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  1. A relevant degree and teaching qualification, and be registered with SACE
  2. Significant experience in student affairs, discipline management, and/or boarding, preferably in a leadership role
  3. Passionate about education and the wellbeing of boys
  4. Innovative and proactive in adapting to the changing needs of education
  5. Able to interact positively with parents
  6. Develop and sustain new ideas and work cooperatively in a team
  7. Highly organised
  8. Strong organisational, managerial, conflict-resolution and interpersonal skills
  9. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
  10. Strong understanding of child development, behaviour management strategies, and counselling techniques
  11. Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and child protection policies relevant to student wellbeing and boarding facilities
