Job description

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3 year B-Degree (Advanced Diploma or higher qualification);

A minimum of 3 years management level experience in Finance, Asset, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

Recommendation

A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas

  1. Develop, implement and monitor departmental asset management and logistic related plans, policies, prescripts and processes;
  2. Ensure the rendering of effective and efficient asset management and logistics management services;
  3. Plan and manage the work of and account for the overall performance of the subdirectorate;
  4. People management;
  5. Financial management.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following:

  1. Asset and logistics management services and processes;
  2. Information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function;
  3. Project management;
  4. Policy development and operational management, monitoring and review processes and systems;
  5. Public Finance Management Act, National and Provincial Treasury regulations, other financial policies, prescripts, directives and collective agreements.

Skills needed:

  1. Numeracy and literacy;
  2. Proven computer literacy;
  3. Written and verbal communication skills;
  4. Project Management;
  5. Accounting, finance and auditing;
  6. Economical and statistical analysis;
  7. Legal administration.

Remuneration

All-inclusive salary package of R per annum (Salary Level).

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, the cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to attend interviews and practical on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
