Like its bold start in 1916 and its subsequent stance of defiance in the 1960's through to 1994, this iconic university has shown grit and determination. Now again in the 2000's, it has faced yet another bout of assault, this time of covert proportions. And yet again, the same grit and determination has shone through. Are you eager and determined to help reposition this iconic institution to the position it so richly deserves? The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for a Dean of Science and Agriculture position on a five-year fixed-term contract, in the Faculty of Science and Agriculture.
An appropriate Doctoral degree, together with a minimum of 7 years' experience in higher education, of which at least 5 years comprise senior academic management and administration experience, will set the foundation. Your research standing will complement your application, as will your eligibility to be appointed as either an Associate Professor or, more ideally, a Professor.
It is your leadership, intellectual input, knowledge and management experience that make the difference between having a great institution and a truly outstanding one. If you yearn for the latter, we would like to hear from you – the opportunity is ripe!
