Job title : DC Operations Trainer - Johannesburg

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Process Improvement and Optimization
  1. Have a full understanding of operational process and systematic flows to enable process improvements.
  2. Assist operations with good system practice & change management.
  3. Capture, design, and make recommendations to process flow through risk, security, and productivity gap analysis.
  4. Project manage assigned improvements and initiatives from design to implementation & execution.
  5. Suggest and implement continuous improvement projects relating to process improvements.
  6. Provide auditing and gap analysis on processes and procedures.
  7. Apply lean methodologies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
  8. Develop and deliver presentations to communicate complex processes to non-technical audiences.
  9. Conduct regular benchmarking initiatives to stay competitive in the industry.

Training and Development
  1. Develop and maintain work standards and characteristics that promote efficient staff and facility utilisation.
  2. Assist in the coaching of staff towards meeting and exceeding performance expectations for quantity, quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
  3. Demonstrate, train and enforce Operational “Best Practices”.
  4. Develop training material for new equipment and processes.
  5. Provide solutions regarding operational training, methodologies, and onboarding procedures which include working instructions and training material.
  6. Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they can effectively execute all operational processes & systematic understanding.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Compliance
  1. Routinely audit Operational SOPs.
  2. Constant engagement with the workforce on the operational floor to evaluate SOP adherence and training requirements.
  3. Responsible for the rollout and upkeep of training administration automation which includes training material access, assessments, and sign-off procedures.
  4. Ensure ongoing updating and creation of SOPs for current and new processes.
  5. Responsible for the creation, automation, and upkeep of the SOP database.
  6. Complete time & motion studies in respective facilities.

Attributes And Qualifications
  1. BEng, BCom Logistics, BCom Supply Chain & Operations Management, or similar degree.
  2. 2 - 3 years field experience in staff training / staff development and/or process implementation.
  3. Minimum 3 years relevant experience within DC Operations or eCommerce Industry.
  4. Minimum 1 year working with WMS systems such as Oracle, Logfire, Manhattan, Red Prairie, SAP, Highjump or similar.
  5. Experience in BEST OPERATING PRACTICES.
  6. Experience in Continuous improvement / Six Sigma.
  7. Strong People management affinity.
  8. High level of proficiency with MS Office packages.
  9. Process fault finding and resolution.
  10. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
